Current software versions are always compatible with all existing firmware versions and hardware revisions. Once purchased, devices are always supported by new versions of the software.
Conversely, current versions of the hardware also expect current software versions. The hardware is (like the software) always further developed. Of course, new functions sometimes also expect current software versions.
We consider the period for the latest software update of three years to be reasonable.
